Welcome to our website.
At Dovers Green we aim to help every child to achieve their greatness by making excellent academic, personal, social and emotional progress so that they can thrive in the next stage of their lives. We want our children to leave Dovers Green with happy memories of their time with us and the confidence to pursue their dreams. We aim for our children to leave us as kind, caring, resilient and ambitious people who understand that, ‘We are all special and we are all different.’

KS1 have been very busy this week creating rockets! Through PSHE the children set a shared goal and worked as a team to achieve it. They evaluated how successful they were based on their teamwork. #ks1 #junkmodelling #rockets #pshe #teamwork #ks1learning

What have Yellow Ladybirds been up to so far this half term? We have been enjoying our new topic The Magic Paintbrush and learning all about China! We have loved trying Chinese food, including noodles with soy sauce and a hoisin-flavoured prawn cracker accompaniment. We have listened to Chinese music and created drawings in response to it, exploring fast and slow, sharp and stilted sounds. In maths, we have been working on stamping patterns of 4 and 5. During Creative Arts Week, we had a great time making our own versions of the painting Window Plants by John Nash. We also followed two tutorials to draw a cat and a pot of flowers, which we then stuck onto our framed window artwork made using collage and finished with tissue paper curtains. We have had a wonderful and creative half term so far!

On Monday the KS1 children found something very strange! What could it be?! We asked Mr Lawton to check the CCTV and he saw an image of a very strange creature - we aren't sure what it is but we believe this must be it's spaceship! We are going to be asking lots of questions and writing about our findings of this mysterious creature linked to our topic 'Let's explore' all about space!

We have started the Spring term with our Creative Arts and Confident Communicators Week. We have based our learning on the lithograph by John Nash called 'Window Plants' which was very kindly loaned to us by Adam's Gallery in Reigate. This print depicts someone looking in to a room through a window. We have turned this round so that the children have been imagining themselves looking out through a window into our local community. We received a grant from the Arts Society which enabled us to have some visitors come in to school to lead some workshops with the children including The Magic Lantern, Bollywood dancing and art work with Gordon from 'The Creeping Toad'. The children are so proud of their amazing work and are very excited that it will be displayed along the corridor outside the offices, so please do pop in after school to have a look from Tuesday 20th January. #creativearts #johnnash #windowplants #bollywooddance #themagiclantern #artanddesign
